Harris Walz Energize The Base But…

While we are all very excited by the current momentum and energy of the Harris Walz ticket, we all must remain clear that organized right-wing extremists in multiple battleground states are prepared to block certification of the election even if Harris-Walz prevail at the polls. It remains critical that we are ready to expand and extend the movement for democratic renewal.

Standing for Democracy (SFD) is a new formation that is working to build out a Strategy Center to provide a comprehensive response to the growing far-right movement in the US and beyond. Specifically SFD is working to build a working class focused approach by partnering with unions, universities, and community organizations to build out various programs to counter the right.

We all are more hopeful than only weeks ago, but we are still in a period fraught with serious risks and it is important that we remain focused on the objective to fend off an aggressive assault on our freedoms and strengthen our work to deepen our democracy.
